Worship at Westminster |
||
|
The sacred act of worship is the most important activity we do together as believers assembled as Westminster Presbyterian Church. Worship is a corporate act that is enriched because it is shared.
Worship at Westminster is God centered. While the act of offering something of ourselves in the worship experience can generate an individual sense of satisfaction, inspiration, and belonging, these are secondary outcomes to the primary purpose of worship, which is to praise God. |

Worship at Westminster gathers around the Word. The Bible is the center of Westminster worship. As children of God gather, we are called to praise him, to read his Word, and proclaim him Lord, King and Savior.
Worship at Westminster proclaims the Word. We proclaim the Word through prayer, reading the Word, listening to the Word, hearing the Word, and singing the Word.
Worship at Westminster responds to the Word. This response is expressed in an affirmation of faith and commitment. It is also expressed through the sacraments of communion and baptism and with our tithes and offerings.
Worship at Westminster seals the Word with Sacraments. The sacraments of baptism and the Lord’s Supper are God’s acts of sealing the promises of faith within the community of faith.
Worship at Westminster sends us into the world with a charge and benediction to follow the Word in our lives and world. |
