Instructions for Serving Communion

It is recommended that you read and become familiar with the communion server instructions. Each communion server has been assigned a particular position: number 1, 2, 3, or 4. These four servers will gathered at the back of the sanctuary at an appointed time to process forward. If you are a choir member, you will join the others as they approach the front of the sanctuary. Attached is a diagram of where each person will serve the elements. As you will see in the diagram, servers 1 and 2 stand together, 3 and 4 stand together; then they all process forward. Servers 3 and 4 will serve from the center aisle, while servers 1 and 2 will serve the outside of the aisles. Server 3 will serve the back wall pew in the sanctuary and serve 2 will serve those seated in the Lounge while servers 3 and 4 finish serving the last rows of pews in the sanctuary. Meanwhile the pastor and liturgist will serve the choir and organist and/or pianist.
